Chennai Press Club condemns attack on Telugu daily

Chennai, May 28 (UNI) The Chennai Press Club today condemned the attacks on the Head Office and branches of Telugu Daily ''Andhra Jyothi'' in Andhra Pradesh by suspected MRPS activists on May 26.

Besides setting ablaze the offices, the activists had attacked the journalists, which was deserved to be severely condemned, Mr Bharathi Tamizhan, Joint Secretary of the Club, said in a statement here.

He urged the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately bring to book the activists and anti-social elements, who attacked the offices of the daily and the journalists, and take stern action against them.
