Central advisory to Delhi, UP, Haryana in view of Gujjar agitation
New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) The Centre has issued an advisory to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi in view of reports of tomorrow's Gujjar agitation in the National Capital Region and asked them to keep watch on anti-social elements to prevent any untoward incident.
The Home Ministry has advised these states to keep utmost vigilance and take effective precautionary and preventive measures including intensive patrolling in vulnerable areas.
They have been told to maintain close liaison and co-ordination with the police and district authorities of areas bordering Delhi and NCR and keep a watch on anti-social elements.
Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta has spoken to the DGPs and other senior officers of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and to the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. They have been sensitised and asked to take all steps to ensure that no disruption and untoward incident takes place.
