Army flag march in Patoli; Govt reviews situation
Jaipur, May 28 (UNI) The Army staged a flag march in Patoli, Pipal Khera and adjoining areas on the eve of the first anniversary of police firing in these places during the first phase of the Gujjar agitation which left 26 people dead last year.
In view of a brief programme scheduled to be held in Patoli tomorrow morning to pay tributes to the police firing victims, the administration has made elaborate security arrangements in and around the dusty town in Dausa district.
Three columns of the Army along with the CRPF and RAC personnel have been deployed in Patoli and Pipal Khera, an official spokesman told UNI.
A meeting of members of Rajasthan Council of Ministers and the BJP leadership was also held at the Chief Minister's official residence here this afternoon to review the law and order situation in the state ahead of the first anniversary of the agitation.
The meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, took stock of the law and order situation and explored various options on further course of action to deal with the agitation at political and administrative levels.
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar, senior party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Minister Kalraj Mishra, party state president Om Prakash Mathur, party Treasurer and sitting MP Ramdas Agrawal and former Deputy Chief Minister Harishankar Bhabhra participated in the meeting.
