Southeast monsoon advances into south Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal

Pune, May 27 (UNI) The southeast monsoon has further advanced into some parts of south Arabian Sea and south, central and north Bay of Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, few places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, south Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, isolated places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, north Konkan, south Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in south Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and north Madhya Maharashtra.

Heat wave condition prevailed in isolated places in north coastal Tamil Nadu. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and north Telangana. They were above normal in some parts of Konkan, Goa and Vidarbha. They were apprecaibly to markedly below normal in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, some parts of Gangetic West bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and south interior Karnataka and were below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, some parts of coastal Orissa and Rayalaseema.

They were normal over the rest of the country.
