Railway production units exceed targets
New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Almost all production units of Indian Railways, including Chitranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), exceeded their production targets during April this year, reflecting the robustness in the railway sector.
CLW produced 10 electric locomotives against the target of 10 engines while DLW achieved its taget of 22 diesel locomotives.
Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Rail Coach Factory (RCF) and Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) produced 62 coaches, 138 coaches, 13764 wheels and 6509 axles respectively against the target of 62 coaches, 130 coaches and 14595 wheels and 5583 axels.
The punctuality percentage of mail and express trains was 92.1 per cent in broad gauge and 99.7 per cent in meter gauge during April this year compared to 91.7 per cent and 99.5 per cent respectively during the same period last year, a Railway Ministry official said today.
Railways realised an amount of Rs 28.35 crore during April through ticket checking.
