President Patil pays obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave

Jammu, May 27 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today paid obeisance at the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, situated on Trikuta Hills in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The President prayed for peace, prosperity and welfare of the nation and entire mankind. She was accompanied by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha and other officers of district administration and police.

However, the President was informed about the development projects and various infrastructure expansion works taken up by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for facilitating comfortable pilgrimage.

Meanwhile here in the winter capital, common people were put to inconvenience due to barricades at several places.

A curfew-like situation prevailed in the city when the VVIP cavalcade passed through the city. The President left for the state capital in the afternoon.
