Policemen arrested for accepting bribe to delete names
Bangalore, May 27 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested two policemen including a police inspector of Bangalore North yesterday in a bribery case for showing an official favour.
A Lokayukta press release said that Sandeep Kowri, a PSI and Prasanna Kumar, constable had demanded Rs 15,000 from M Rajashekar to delete the names of his mother and sister from a case registered in the police station.
After much bargaining, the policemen had agreed to accept Rs 10,000 as a bribe money.
After a well laid out trap, the Lokayukta police caught both policemen redhanded while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 8,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively from Rajashekar's friend.
