HP Govt signs contract for road construction with Chinese firm

Shimla, May 27 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has signed a contract with a Chinese company to construct 80 km stretch of road from here to Rohroo in Shimla District.

The Public Works Department Minister Gulab Singh said that the contract, for the construction of 80 km long two-lane road, had been signed with Chinese firm Long Jian Road and Bridge Limited on the behalf of Himachal Pradesh Road Infrastructure Development Corporation.

The Minister said cost of the project would be of Rs 228 crore and construction involved 15 bridges, 280 culverts, 6.5 km retaining walls, 28 km of breast walls, covered drain with foot path in 5.5 km and 30 rain shelters.
