Gujjars meet BJP leaders, demand action against Raje

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) A delegation of Gujjar leaders from four states today met the BJP leadership, demanding action against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for cutting off food supplies to the agitating Gujjar activists in the state.

The delegation of Gujjar leaders from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi met BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and BJP General Secretary Vijay Goel, expressing their concern about the delay of the Rajasthan Government in including the Gujjar community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list and the violence that had claimed a number of lives.

The two leaders heard the delegation, led by All India Gujjar Samaj President Ramsharan Bhati and advised them to restore normalcy to pave way for resolving the problem through a dialogue process.

The meeting lasted for 90 minutes, BJP sources said.
