Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) Edible oil prices rallied for the second consecutive day today and touched a record high this year with groundnut raw oil advancing to Rs 720 per ten kgs and sunflower oil to Rs 690 per ten kgs on brisk demand by local bulk consumers in view of bullish advice from producing centres, mainly Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some northern regions, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said here today.

In seeds, groundnut and castorseed prices went up by Rs 25 and Rs 10 per quintal respectively on renewed demand from millers, induced by bullish advice from Rajkot and other centres.

In oils, groundnut raw, imported palmolein, and sunflower expeller refined also gained by Rs five, Rs ten and Rs five respectively while cottonseed refined oil gained by Rs five at Rs 625 on heavy demand from bulk consumers and retailers.

Copra white, rice brand, castor commercial and linseed also were in limelight on sustained good buying support from industrial users and retailers.

There was lesser stock arrivals from producing centres.
