EC instructs officials to be vigilant for bypolls

Hyderabad, May 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Eletoral Officer I V Subba Rao today issued instructions to all District Election Officers and the Superintendent of Police (SPs) to be vigilant in the next 48 hours from the time of conclusion of poll campaign this evening.

According to an official release here, Dr Rao directed all the Collectors and SPs to be extremely alert and look out for cases of violation of election code and corrupt practices.

Asking the officials concerned to closely monitor the developments in the ten districts where the byelections are scheduled to be held on May 29 and take action against persons, who violate poll code, he exhorted the official to be firm, fair and unbaised in their action in each case and ensure prompt reporting every one hour to the office in Hyderabad.
