Conditions favourable for South-West monsoon in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, May 27 (UNI) The South-West Monsoon is likely to hit the Kerala coast in two to three days as the conditions are most favourable, Met Director M D Ramachandran said.
''It is expected that a low pressure will be formed in Lakshwadeep area tomorrow. If that happens, we will have the monsoon in two to three days,'' he told UNI.
Meanwhile, the Local Met office said pre-monsoon showers lashed at isolated places in Kerala and many places in Lakshwadeep.
They said Agathi recorded the highest rainfall of six cm, followed by Ameni and Kavarathi - five cm each Minicoy got three cm of rains.
Rains or thundershowers were likely over Kerala and Lakshwadeep during the next 48 hrs, they added.
