Centre failed to contain price rise: Venkaiah Naidu
Hyderabad, May 27 (UNI) Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today alleged that the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre had ''failed'' to control the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities and the common man could not afford to buy vegetables and edible oil.
Participating in a road show here as part of the election campaign for the byelections to 18 Assembly and four Lok Sabha seats to be held on May 29, Mr Naidu exuded confidence that the BJP-led NDA would bounce back to power in 2009 general elections as the UPA Government was ''implementing anti-people policies''.
Alleging that the Congress and the TRS had ''cheated'' the people of Telangana by promising that a separate state would be formed immediately after they came to power, he said the BJP was committed to the formation of Telangana.
