Boy faces acid attack for stealing

Bhagalpur, May 27: A class IX student suffered severe burns when an irate mob poured acid on him for stealing from a shop at Kahalgaon here on Sunday, police today said.

Police said Gautam Yadav, a student of Rampur High School in Kahalgaon sub-divison, faced the acid attack by the locals.

However, the victim's father has alleged that his son was attacked because of old enmity.

The victim was undergoing treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital here, police said adding that so far two people were arrested in this connection and were being interrogated.
