Amar Singh to move court seeking protection from Mayawati
New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Charging the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh with targetting political rivals, Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh today said he would move the Allahabad High Court seeking protection from the political vendatta of the BSP president.
''I will move the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court not as a politician but as a lawyer...I will carry the clippings of the statements of Ms Mayawati in which she has threatened to put me and Mulayam Singh Yadav behind bars. I will also show the court the CD in which police officials have admitted that they have been asked to implicate the SP leaders in fake cases,'' Amar Singh said.
Accusing Ms Mayawati of framing him under false cases Amar Singh distributed a CD among reporters to prove his point that the raid on his factory was a political vendetta.
The CD was recently distributed by the SP president to reporters in which a police official had admitted that he was allegedly pressurised by Ms Mayawati to implicate the SP leaders.
In Lucknow recently, Mr Mulayam Singh had claimed that Amar Singh was being harassed because he had arranged two luxury buses to ferry the Bachchan family and other VIPs to Daulatpur in Barabanki while inaugurating a college named after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan earlier this year.
The SP leaders had claimed that in the past too Ms Mayawati had ordered a raid in the factory owned by Amar Singh in Ghaziabad on the grounds of power theft and had tried to impose POTA on him and MP, Akhilesh Yadav.
