87 SEZ projects notified: Kamalnath
Chhindwara, MP, May 27 (UNI) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamalnath today said that 87 Special Economic Zone (SEZ) projects had been notified in the country.
''The projects will attract investment to the tune of Rs 60,000 crore. Two of the projects have been ayed for this area. I am strictly against compulsory land acquisition for SEZs. Thousands of free acres, at Nagpur, of the Maharashtra State Industrial Development Corporation have been given for SEZs,'' the local MP told mediapersons here.
The Minister announced that an institution linked to footwear designing and another related to contruction training would soon be set up here.
He laid the foundation stone of a National Institute of Information Technology-aided District Learning Centre at this district's Badkui for imparting employment-oriented training to youth. One such centre is functioning here for the past year.
