71-year-old accused of raping child sent to police remand

Ambala, May 27 (UNI) A 71-year-old vegetable vendor, arrested on charges of raping a 4-year-old girl in Ratangarh colony here was today sent to 14-day judicial custody by a local court.

The accused, Ram Karan who had migrated from Rohtak, was living in a rented room of the victim's parents.

He allegedly invited the child into his room where he allegedly committed the crime, police said.

He was caught by the neigbours who thrashed him before handing him over to the Police.
