1.3 kg charas, spurious liquor seized in Kanpur

Kanpur, May 27: Police here today arrested three people and seized charas and illicit liquor from them in different areas.

Two people were caught possessing 1.3 kg charas worth rupees several thousands from Chakeri area.

The arrested were carrying the contraband drug in bags and were suspected during checking drive.

The charas was smuggled from Napal for sale, police informed.

In another case, the city police unearthed a country liquor factory in Kothi Khalwa village.

Twenty liters spurious liquor and apparatus used in its manufacture were also seized from the spot.

Meanwhile, police has apprehended one person.

Investigation was underway.
