Weather stations in 5 blocks in Pudukottai dist

Pudukkottai, May 26: Automatic weather stations will be set up in five blocks, namely Pudukottai, Gandharvakottai, Tiruvarankulam, Annavasal and Aranthangi, in the district to provide weather information to farmers.

According to official sources, the stations would be set up under the National Agriculture Development Programme and the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University would coordinate the execution.

The stations would collect data on rainfall, temperature, wind velocity and other parameters and send it to the Meteorological Department's National Data Centre in Pune.
