Girl, teenager attempt to commit suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar May 26: A girl and a 17-year-old boy attempted to commit suicide in the Kashmir Valley overnight, official sources said today.

They said a girl Nusrat Jan consumed poisonous substance in her Nusoo house at Bandipora in north Kashmir.

She was admitted to SMHS Hospital in a critical condition, they added.

Itefaq Ahmad Baigh also consumed some poisonous substance in his Kralweth Baramulla house. He was later admitted to a hospital.

It was not, however, immediately known why they attempted to end their lives, the sources said, adding police have registered cases against them.
