Edible oils, key seeds

Mumbai, May 26 (UNI) Edible oil prices today touched another high this year with groundnut raw oil advancing to Rs 715 per ten kgs and sunflower oil to Rs 685 per ten kgs on reduced offloading by stockists in view of firm advice from producing centres, mainly Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some northern regions, traders at Bombay Commodity Exchange said here today.

In seeds, groundnut, nigerseed and castorseed prices also gained by Rs 25 Rs 50 and Rs 75 per quintal respectively on heavy demand from millers, induced by bullish advice from Rajkot and other centres.

In oils, groundnut raw, sesame expeller and sunflower expeller refined also agained by Rs five, Rs ten and Rs 20 respectively and was quoted at a new peak at Rs 715 for groundnut raw, Rs 680 for sesame expeller and for sunflower refined at Rs 685 on good demand from bulk consumers and retailers. There was lesser stock arrivals from producing centres.

Similarly. cottonseed refined, rapeseed refined, copra and linseed oils also rallied again on heavy bulk consumers and industrial users demand, while groundnut extraction, cotton expeller and soyameal extraton were up on good exporters demand and lesser stocks at the domestic marekts, traders added.
