7 held for betting on IPL match

Vijayawada, May 26: The Anti-Goonda Squad (AGS) of the city police has arrested seven people on the charge of betting on the DLF IPL match between Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers here last night and seized Rs 34,740 cash, 10 cell phones and a television set from them.

Police said on a tip-off, the AGS team raided a room in Sitarampuram here and effected the arrests.

The accused were later handed over to the Suryaraopet Police.
