Bhajan Lal wins Adampur seat

Chandigarh, May 25: The Congress today secured victory in two of three Assembly seats in Haryana where bypoll was held while former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal of Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) won his Adampur seat.

Mr Lal defeated his nearest rival Ranjit Singh of the Congress by a margin of 26,188 votes, while former Finance Minister Sampat Singh of the INLD came third. Mr Lal has been re-elected from this constituency after being disqualified under the anti-defection law for launching HJC in December last year while being in the Congress.
