Woman dies after chain snatching incident

Kanpur, May 23: A woman pillion rider, who met with a road accident after being victim of chain snatchers, died here today, police said.

Gyanwati (55), wife of a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police in Lucknow, had come to see her brother's wife here.

However, when she was on way to hospital along with her son on a motorcycle, two miscreants snatched her chain, police added.

Wherein, the woman fell down from the vehicle and received serious injuries. She was rushed to hospital, where she succumbed.

Investigation was on.
