IBMR signs MoU with University of Sterling, Scotland
Hubli, May 23 (UNI) Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR) group of institutions today became the first B-Schools of India to open vistas to study international MBA programme, by signing an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Stirling, Scotland.
The MoU was signed by the University Vice Chancellor Prof Christne Hallett and IBMR Chairman Vinaychandra Mahendrakar.
Addressing a joint press conference here, University programme Director Peter Flett and Unversity's International Development Officer Stuart Shorthouse said that the main objectives of this strategic alliance was to facilitate academic cooperation through research and advanced studies, provide foundation qualification and experience to Indian students to enter international MBA programme in Stirling University and facilitate best practice exchange in teaching and learning methodologies, sharing knowledge resources and opportunities for professional development.
"The agreement will also foster faculty and student exchange and flexible learning", they added.
Replying to a question, Mr Flett said with growing opportunities for students to pursue higher education, UK offered ample scope for quality education of international repute in a cosmopolitan community with excellent career opportunities. Acquiring an international MBA at Stirling university was made easy and economical for an Indian student who would go through the programme first year in India in any of the IBMR campuses situated in Hubli, Bangalore and Ahmedabad, which qualified them for the final year in UK. On completion of the course the students were also eligible for a two-year work visa in UK, he added.
