Govt funds for college renovation

Chennai, May 23: The Tamil Nadu Government has sanctioned Rs one crore for renovating, repairing and restructuring the nearly 150-year-old building of the Government College of Fine Arts in the city.

An official release here said a permanent museum hall would also be housed in the campus, at a cost of Rs 4.50 lakh.

It said Rs two lakh has been set aside for teaching street children arts and crafts and Rs four lakh for holding cultural festivals in villages, through regional cultural centres.
