Fresh hooch tragedy claims 3 lives in K'taka

Bangalore, May 23: Three people were killed in a fresh hooch tragedy at Panaganahalli in Hassan District.

Police said today the victims had consumed the illicit liquor at a marriage celebration in the village yesterday.

The victims died on the spot, they said adding three more people had been admitted to hospitals in serious condition.

More than 20 people have been admitted to various hospitals in Sakleshur Taluk, they said.

With this, the toll in the hooch tragedy had risen to 138. A total of 191 lives have been lost in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka after people consumed the killer brew on Sunday with Tamil Nadu accounting for 53 lives till last night.
