Centre announces three National Highways for Arunachal
Itanagar, May 23 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned three more National Highways for Aruanchal Pradesh.
This fulfils the Prime Minister's announcement of Trans Arunachal Highway in his maiden visit to the state on January 31 last.
According to official sources here, the three new National Highways include NH 229, NH 52B and extension of NH 37.
The NH 229, stretching from Tawang to Pasighat in East Siang district would touch Nechipu, Seppa, Sagalee, Ziro, Daporijo and Along in the middle, while the NH 52 B, finishing near Dibrugarh in Assam would pass through Mahadevpur, Namchik, Manmao, Changlang, Khonsa, Longding and Kanubari.
The third in line, the extension of NH 37, would begin from Saikhowaghat in Assam to join NH 52 near Roing in Arunachal Pradesh, sources disclosed.
Thanking UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for the 'gift' to the state, Arunachal Pradesh Public Works Department minister Nabam Tuki pledged that the state government would go all out for successfully completing the new projects to deliver the people their long awaited demands, sources added.
