AIR programme bags award in international radio fest
Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) All India Radio (AIR) children's programme -- ''Janiba, Ame Kama Kariba'' (think globally, act locally) has bagged first prize in the ninth International Radio Festival in Iran.
The programme touches on the subjects of climate change and preservation of resources, through conversations among two children and their mother in musical rhymes, a release said.
The programme has been produced in Oriya language by AIR Sambalpur (Orissa) Programme Executive Padmalochan Das.
Mr Das received a golden statue and a cash prize of Euro 2,000 for this programme. Earlier in 2007, Mr Das had won first prize in the eighth International Radio Festival Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting for programmes on HIV/AIDS, the release added.
