TDP leader to seek details on land allotment
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, May 22 (UNI) Public Undertakings Committee Chairman and TDP Politbureau Member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today said he would call for details from the government over the Kakinada port lands allotment on long lease and take appropriate steps if they were any irregularities.
Talking to newspersons after inaugurating the new premises of the district TDP office here, he said complaints were received that ''non-port users and non-locals'' got priority treatment in land allotment in violation of the rules.
He said the TDP was serious over the way in which the port lands were allotted under a special GO No 8. The public undertaking committee would attach much importance to the issue in the backdrop of numerous complaints received.
Reiterating his party's stand on the acquisition of lands for the Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ), he said they were not against SEZ but onlythe alleged forcible acquisition of fertile lands.
In case of disposal of SEZ lands for major industries, he said, 50 per cent of the revenue earned should be distributed among the original landowners and not the SEZ promoters.
He said TDP President Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by top party leaders, would tour the district from June seven to 11 as a part of his 'Mee Kosam' yatra.
