Prohibitory orders in Raj districts ahead of Gujjar agitation
Jaipur, May 22 (UNI) The Rajasthan Government has promulgated prohibitory orders under section 144 in Dausa, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur and Karuali districts of the state, ahead of the Gujjar agitation from tomorrow.
An official spokesman told UNI that the orders had come into force since last night as a precautionary measure in view of the call for 'Rail Roko' in Bharatpur district by Gujjar Reservation Action Committee.
The Committee Convener Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla had given a call to disrupt rail traffic at the Dumariya railway station in Bayana block of Bharatpur district, through which the busy Delhi-Mumbai rail route passes, to press their demand of ST status for Gujjars.
Meanwhile, the administration has also made elaborate security arrangements.
Ten companies of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) and another of Railway Protection Force (RPF) have been deployed in these Gujjar dominated districts.
About 35 activists had been rounded up as a precautionary measure so far, the spokesman said.
Arrest warrants against Col Bainsla and four others had also been issued, he added.
