Kerala HC issues notice to CBI in Sister Abhaya case
Kochi, May 22 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today admitted a petition, seeking a direction to the CBI to conduct investigation into the death of Sister Abhaya in accordance with the narco-analysis report.
Justice R Basanth also issued a notice to the CBI to respond to the petition, filed by Human Rights activist Jomon Puthenpurackal.
The narco-analysis test was conducted earlier this year on two priests and a nun.
The petitioner had filed the same plea before the Chief Judicial Magistrate court. However, that petition was dismissed.
The Sister Abhaya case relates to the mysterious killing of the 21-year-old nun, whose body was found in the well of a convent in Kottayam more than ten years ago. There were allegations that the nun was sexually assaulted and murdered.
