Andaman records significant rise in CBSE Class XII pass percentage

Port Blair, May 22 (UNI) The Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have recorded 13.08 per cent rise in overall pass percentage in CBSE Class XII examination.

Out of 3,211 students, who appeared in Class XII from both Goverment-aided and un-aided schools in these remote Islands, 2,701 students have passed and 367 students have been placed in compartment category.

''The overall pass percentage of A&N Islands this year stands at 84.12 per cent as against 71.04 per cent recorded last year registering an overall increase of 13.08 per cent, Ms Leela Vargese, Nodal officer, CBSE in Andaman and Nicobar Islands told UNI today.

As far as the Administration Schools are concerned, the pass percentage stands at 82.45 per cent this year as against 68.40 per cent recorded last year, registering an overall increase of 14.05 per cent.

Altogether seven schools in Andaman and Nicobar Islands have secured cent percent results in Class-XII as against five schools last year, the Nodal officer of CBSE in Andamn informed mediapersons.
