Winnability and loyalty to be criteria for Congress ticket
Jaipur, May 21 (UNI) Winnability and loyalty to the party will be the general criteria for selection of Congress candidates in the next Assembly elections in Rajasthan due to be held by November, Haryana Finance Minister and party state election coordinator Birender Singh today said.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Singh said young and new faces with good track record and conduct would be given due weightage in allotment of the party tickets.
He said the party was committed to making united and coordinated efforts to win the elections. ''We will march to victory taking together all leaders and all groups within the party,'' he said.
It would be a joint effort in which the workers and people would remain in focus, Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh said the Congress had always denounced the caste and community based politics and the party would strive to its nationalistic approach and policy.
Contrary to this, the BJP had always practiced caste and communal politics to secure political mileage.
Mr Singh arrived here this morning.
He participated in a programme on the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi held at the party's state headquarters here to pay tributes to the former Prime Minister.
