Rupee further slips to 42.75/76 against USD

Mumbai, May 21: Rupee further slid towards 13-months low to open at 42.75/76 per US Dollar from its previous close of 42.60/61 per Dollar tracking the weak global cues as oil prices hit record high at USD 130 per barrel.

The Indian currency slipped to the lower edges as record oil prices raised worries of a deteriorating trade deficit against a backdrop of slowing capital inflows. Rupee had hit 42.92 last Friday, its weakest since mid-April 2007, dealers said.
