Hooch tragedy fallout: Top cop removed
Chennai, May 21 (UNI) Four days after the worst-ever hooch tragedy claimed nearly 46 lives so far at Hosur in Krishnagiri district, the Tamil Nadu government today removed ADGP Enforcement G Thilakavathi.
An official release here said Dr K R Shyam Sundar, ADGP, Director, Fire and Rescue Services, Chennai, was posted in her place.
Ms Thilakavathi was not given any posting subsequent to her removal.
So far, 46 people had died in the twin hooch tragedies that struck the district over the weekend with the toll continuing to rise even four days after the incident, the people in Thali, Denkanikotta and nearby villages consumed the killer brew at Solur Village in Karnataka on Saturday and at Billamangalam Village near Thali in Krishnagiri District the next day.
