UP police spreads dragnet for illegal Bangladeshi migrants
Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police have launched a fresh offensive against the illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the state in wake of the deadly Jaipur serial blasts, in which the hand of Huji terrorist organisation was being suspected.
The state police today raided couple of places in Lucknow, including its posh Gomti Nagar area, to check the illegal migrants, but nothing was disclosed so far by the police.
State Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Brijlal here said ''it was a routine process and such raids are being conducted against the illegal migrants.'' However, the state police had done nothing against the detection of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the state earlier even after contemporaneous blasts at civil courts on November 23 last.
In the last couple of years, not more than 50 illegal Bangladeshi migrants have been deported from the state, whereas according to the reports, several thousands were staying illegally in all the major cities and even in rural areas with fake ration cards.
Recently, on the directives of the state government, most of the districts had sent their reports saying, there were no illegal Bangladeshi migrants staying in their area.
