Two wanted criminals shot dead in police encounters

Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) Two wanted criminals were gunned down during different police encounters in Varanasi city today.

Sunil Singh alias Bablu, carrying a bounty of Rs 10,000 on his head, was shot dead after a fierce encounter in Madhavadeeh area, police said.

The notorious criminal was facing the charges of murder, abduction and loot.

Another encounter took place in Sarnath, where Grijesh Pathak became the target of police firing.

Grijesh was carrying a reward of Rs 2,500 on his head.

Illicit weapons and cartridges were recovered from the possession of the outlaws, the police added.
