Suven Life gets product patents in S Africa, China

New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) Hyderabad-based biopharmaceutical firm Suven Life Sciences Ltd today said it has received two product patents in South Africa and China for two of their new chemical entities (NCEs) for treatment of neuro-degenerative diseases.

The South African patent is valid until 2024 and the other until 2025, and these are useful in the treatment of cognitive impairment associated with neuro-degenerative disorders like attention deficient hyperactivity, Alzheimer's, Parkinson etc, a company statement said.

''This targets 18 billion dollars potential market opportunity globally,'' company Chief Executive Officer Venkat Jasti said in the statement.
