Experts concerned over alleged increasing cases against Tripura govt
Agartala, May 20 (UNI) The Tripura Law department has reviewed the increasing incidences of cases against the state government with the legal experts of the state and outside.
Official sources said here today that after undertakig the review yesterday, the state Law department recommended the public prosecutors as well as heads of the government departments to sincerely respond to the legal notices on time for averting judicial battles.
The meeting expressed serious concern over the growing trend of judicial disputes against the state government by the civil society as well as citizens in Tripura and the speakers commented that the growing trend was not healthy for a welfare state and the government should take steps to avert the situation.
Former Judge of Guwahati High Court P K Sarkar urged the public prosecutors to be serious while handling the government cases and upgrade their professional skills and commented that most of the police officers were not competent to file the investigation reports, which were delaying the disposal of the cases.
