UP: Blast in police station; seven injured

Kanpur, May 20: Seven people, including a policeman, were injured after a blast took place in Collectarganj police station premises here today. An explosion occurred at 'malkhana' in the police station premises, in which seven were injured, including a constable and a homeguard, District Magistrate Anil Kumar Sagar told the sources.

The injured had been admitted to S S hospital, where one was stated to be critical.

The explosion occurred accidently, when labourers were cleaning the 'malkhana', a place where weapons, explosives and other materials seized from the criminals were kept. Senior officials, including DM, ADM, DIG and others had reached the spot.
