3 BSF jawans killed, 12 injured in road accident

Aizawl, May 20: Three BSF jawans were killed and 12 others injured in an accident here last evening, police today said. Police said the accident ocurred when a bus, carrying 15 jawans, overturned and fell into a gorge.

While two of them died on the spot, a third succumbed in the Aizawl Civil Hospital. The injured had been brought to Guwahati by a helicopter and their condition was stated to be critical.

The deceased were constable Rajesh Kumar (40), Sohan Lal (45) and Padan Roy (30).

The cause of the accident could not be ascertained as the driver was still lying unconscious in the hospital, police added.
