Prez expresses grief over Vijay Tendulkar's death

New Delhi, May 19: President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today expressed grief over the death of noted Marathi playwright Vijay Tendulkar who died this morning at a private nursing home in Pune following a protracted illness.

The President in a condolence message recalled the contribution of the playwright to Marathi drama and said his demise was a great loss to the world of theatre and literature. She expressed her heartfelt sympathies to the grieved family. Tendulkar is survived by his two daughters and brothers.
