Nagaland observe AIDS Candlelight Memorial Service

Kohima, May 19: Nagaland joined the rest of the world in observing the 25th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Service to the moto to ''Never give up, Never forget' in rememberance of everyone affected by AIDS, directly or indirectly.

The main function was held at Kohima at the State Academy Hall last night, where Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister Kuzhuluzo Nienu, speaking as the chief guest, appealed to one and all to carry the message that those affected are our own brothers and sisters and we should never forget them or give up on them as they need our support.

Nagaland Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Menukhol John speaks about the significance of the day and called for concerted efforts to arrest and reverse the threat of wiping out humanity. Some of the infected persons also spoke in the function.

All present in the gathering lit candles to observe the day.
