Govt taking steps to provide 24-hour water supply: CM
Hyderabad, May 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his government was taking steps to provide round-the-clock water supply in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad from Krishna River.
Participating in the election campaign in Musheerabad Assembly Constituency, Dr Reddy said the daily water supply was provided to the people after the Congress came to power in the state. Twenty four-hour water supply would also be provided once the Krishna water project was completed, he added.
He said the government was constructing houses for the poor and middle class people under the Rajiv Gruhakalpa scheme and was also planning to construct additional 50,000 houses in future.
He alleged that the CPI(M)'s alliance with the Opposition TDP was against the Left's ideology.
Terming the recent CPI(M)'s political decisions ''anti-development,'' Dr Reddy claimed that the TDP had not given priority to Muslims in the party as compared to the Congress.
