Four kg heroin recovered by Punjab Police
Amritsar, May 18 (UNI) The Punjab Police today seized four kg heroin and arrested two persons under the NDPS Act in this connection.
The arrested persons were identified as Jarnail Singh and Narinder Singh, both of Hawalian village. The two were undertrials and were lodged in the Central Jail here.
Police sources here said that the two were brought from the jail on production warrants following the disclosures made by two smugglers, Talwinder Singh and Mukhtiar Singh who were arrested by the district police with one Kg heroin and fake currency worth Rs three lakh a few days back. During investigation both the arrested smugglers confessed that they had close links with the smugglers lodged in the Central Jail and they disclosed the names of Jarnail Singh and Narinder Singh who were lodged in the Central Jail in connection with a NDPS case registered against them.
The four kg heroin was recovered from Chheharta town in the presence of two senior police officers today. Jarnail and Narinder confessed that the consignment was brought from Pakistan by them alongwith Talwinder Singh and Mukhtiar Singh.
