Dalit's house torched; 6 govt employees suspended
Rampur, May 18 (UNI) Taking serious note of setting ablaze a dalit's house in Vilaspur station area here late last night, Uttar Pradesh government has suspended four 'chakbandi' employees and two police officials today.
Prithvi Pal Singh and one dalit Ramesh had an heated exchange of words over a land dispute.
Later, Singh torched Ramesh's house, which engulfed two nearby houses also, Additional District Magistrate Srikant Mishra said.
Principle secretary S R Lakha reached the spot and over his report, four personnels of Chakbandi department and two policemen were suspended for laxity.
Police had registered a case and was searching for the culprit.
Meanwhile, district administration had provided financial help, besides food and cereals to the victims.
