Sonia enquires about TN CM's health condition

Chennai, May 17 (UNI) Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today enquired about health of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi, who is being treated for neck and back pain at a private hospital at suburban Porur.

Ms Gandhi spoke to Mr Karunanidhi's daughter and Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi by telephone and enquired about his health.

Ms Kanimozhi, told Ms Gandhi that her father would resume his normal duties after a few days of rest, an official release said.

The 84-year-old Dravidian patriarch, admitted to the hospital last evening, was advised rest. Doctors attending him also suggested physiotheraphy for speedy recovery.

Mr M K Azhagiri, former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Congress leader K V Thangabalu and 'Vanniya Peravai' leader Jagathratchagan called on Mr Karunanidhi and enquired about his health.
