AP Home Min orders inquiry into faction leader's death
Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today ordered a police inquiry into the Lorry-Sumo collision in which K Venkatappa Naidu, a faction leader and seven others were killed, following allegations by TDP leaders that rival faction gang had killed them in a ''planned manner''.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Reddy condemned the incident and said action would taken against the guilty whether they belonged to the TDP or Congress.
Stating that the government had taken effective steps to curb the faction feuds in Rayalaseema region, he said stringent punishment would be awarded to the accused.
Information and Public Relations Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy said everyone should condemn such attacks.
Action would be taken after police submit its report to the government, he added.
Meanwhile, Veerasamay, one among the three injured in the 'accident' talking to newspersons alleged that the rival faction gang hit the Sumo, proceeding from Kapatrala to Kodumuru, and hurled bombs on the car, resulting in the death of faction leader instantaneously.
According to police sources, a car was found at Goruntla village, which was allegedly used by the rival gang to attack the faction leader.
Police have launched investigation into the incident.
