2 killed, 54 injured in road accident in Tripura

Agartala, May 16: At least two persons were killed and 54 others injured in a road accident in South Tripura when a group of CPI(M) activists were on their way to attend a civil disobedience rally to protest the price rise of essential commodities.

Police said here today that the accident occurred yesterday when a truck, carrying several workers of the ruling CPI(M), turned turtle.

About 32 of the injured persons were admitted to the Udaipur district hospital and 18 others were shifted to the Agartala Government Medical College and Hospital.
